Salt Chamber 10 Year Anniversary

SALT Chamber Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

Boca Raton, FL – April 29, 2022  SALT Chamber was established 10 years ago in May and June of 2012 when less than 12 facilities were offering dry salt therapy (aka Halotherapy) throughout the United States and Canada. When founder Leo Tonkin first learned about the wellness benefits of this evidence-based modality, he began to work to strategize a plan to bring this modality throughout North America. While dry salt therapy is considered a medical treatment in many European countries, Leo’s plan was to be the first to bring unique salt therapy concepts to the spa, hospitality, and wellness industry.

The SALT Chamber Story

What started with a wall full of Post-It Notes, soon turned into a small designer/showroom in Boca Raton, Florida incorporating new trademarked developed innovative concepts with a SALT Bed® and a SALT Booth® along with being the first to bring a full range of Himalayan salt décor as a design element for salt rooms featuring the SALT FX® halogenerators (dry salt aerosol devices). SALT Chamber began providing design, build, and install projects creating unique salt rooms for spas, country clubs, and destination resorts.

In 2013, SALT Chamber began an education and awareness campaign and attended the first ISPA Conference where salt therapy was overwhelmingly received. The business soon expanded and opened a second manufacturing/production facility and began attending other industry events such as SpaTec, Global Beauty, IECSC, Global Wellness Summit, Live Love Spa, Spa Buzz, Green Spa Network, Florida Spa Association, and so many other events and opportunities.
